So right....

Im a new surfer and i dont really know much about it. I just moved to Orlando FL and ive never surfed a day in my life before, but i always thought it looked like soo much fun. So last weekend i went out to Cocoa beach (FL) and rented a 8 ft. foam board from Ron Jons and i basically taught my self what i could. The 1st hour or so was just ridiculous, i had no idea what i was doing, then i just sat back and watched some other people surf. So finally after about 6 hours i was able to get up and ride for a little bit (lol, the waves were not very big, so i didnt go far) BUT that was enough to get me hooked! sooo, i guess my question to you all is....

Is it a waste of time or a good thing to get surfing lessons?

I should deff try out many types of boards to see which kind is best for me... any suggestions?

and any cool info that might help me out?
