Today we have a small/fading mix of SW groundswell and NW windswell. The better spots across the region are around the 1-3' range on sets with still some workable lines out there and clean/glassy conditions this morning. Tide was Low around 5:15am at -0.3' and is now filling in to a 3.4' High around 11:35am. Then dropping once again to a 2' Low at 4:10pm.

 

2-3 ft - knee to waist high with occasional 4 ft. and fair conditions.

Today we have a mix of SW groundswell and slow fading NW windswell. Plenty of 2-3' waves can be found across the region with occasional 4' sets coming through at the standout spots. Surf is peaky this morning for many locations with fairly clean conditions. Tide is filling in to a 3.6' High around 10:55am, then dropping to a 1.7' Low at 3:50pm.

The UC Irvine Surf team presents the Orange County premiere of Greg Browning's “Drive-Thru New Zealand” next Friday, April 25th. The film, starring Donavon, Benji, Pat O, Occy, Alex Gray, and Ozzie Wright in the surf soaked land of New Zealand, will screen in the Social Science Lecture Hall (SSLH 100) Theatre, on the UC Irvine Main Campus. Parking is available in Social Science Parking Structure (SSPS), on the corner of Campus Dr. and Stanford, and admission is $5 at the door. Doors open at 7:30, movie starts at 8:00. We’ll see you there.

This Sunday, April 20th from 9AM 'til 1PM at the north side of the Seal beach pier, Surfrider presents the 1st Annual Ohana Day.

Some of the fun will include: Free Surf Lessons by M & M surf School, free science class by local teahcer, free boogie board and body board lessons by Alternative Surf, refreshments, silent auction, raffle, and much, much more!

We are definitely seeing some more size out there this afternoon. Our S swell has filled in a bit more with inconsistent chest-shoulder high sets coming through at the exposed spots from Huntington down through South County. It’s super inconsistent and conditions are pretty bad with W winds hacking up surface conditions. The tide is currently dropping to a 1.1’ low around 3PM.
