The Doheny Longboard Surfing Association (DLSA) will be holding its 12th Annual Menehune Contest on Saturday, June 28th at Doheny State Beach. The contest begins promptly at 7AM and is open to boys and girls of all ages with divisions for 8 and under on up to 17 years of age. Hundreds of young competitors are expected to participate in addition to the many spectators that will line the famed Doheny State Park beach front. Old NW windswell continues to fade out as a new SW groundswell slowly rises. Swell mix showing fun crossed up peaks this afternoon with some workable lines. Look for the most size from the HB pier south where sets hit the chest-shoulder high range with most spots north of that in the knee-waisth high zone. Onshores have a bit of crumble/texture to the surface but its not that bad and the tide hits a .4' low at 1pm. Watch for a few new S sets to push in through the afternoon.
