MAKAI UPDATE ON NOEL
Mon Oct 29, 2007 at 06:33PM
| Time: | 06:33 PM | Cond: | Choppy |
|
| Surf: | 5-6ft+ | Crowd: | ||
| Wind: | Tides: |
Mon Pm, waves in the 6-8ft range with sloppy, choppy conditions. 20-30mph NNE wind with a strong north to south current, lots of ripe tides plenty rain and wind. It is pretty much all over the place. Low tide was at 5:30 and high tide at 11:29 PM.
Tropical storm NOEL is on its way towards us, although not expected to to hit land we are under high surf advisory, flood watch and a high wind watch, as of now.
NOEL has an estimated 20 deaths already, in the Dominican Republic, from all of the rain and flash flooding and with more people still missing. Is Jacksonville Beach ready if a hurricane were to hit? Do you think you are ready? NOEL is not even a hurricane yet and the damages to our east coast are already being seen. Just as you thought the hurricane season was coming to an end, storm #14 hits.
With signs gone missing and trash cans on the beach being washed up, we had workers on site today, to do what they can, to prevent any significant damage to our beloved coast.

With that all said, surf conditions should stay about the same through the week, but when the wind finally does let up and it glasses over, we should have some real fun surf. |

it's gonna be interesting to see how Noel pans out...
